Hairball ROCKED Myth Live

Saturday evening was a night of big hair and spandex at Myth Live. Minnesota’s own Hairball had a chance to play to their home crowd. Myth Live was packed with Hairball family and friends/fans. I loved walking into the venue admiring all of the throwback hairstyles and apparel. I have waited a couple of years to get the chance to photograph Hairball. Hairball has always been on my bucket list of must photograph bands.

The opening band was Legacy of the Loud. They are also a band who call Minnesota home. These rockers played 80’s hits by Cinderella, Whitesnake, Scorpions. The vocal range and talent was incredible for a cover band. The energy level was incredible. Legacy of the Loud is a six piece rock band that knows how to rock.

Wicked Garden was up next to impress fans. Wicked Garden also calls Minnesota home. The 90’s grunge era band played a great forty five minute set. The vocals of Ryan Gaskill were fantastic. They played hit songs from bands Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Metallica and Pearl Jam. Wicked Garden is a must see band !!

Fans were ready for Hairball. The lights went down and two spotlights hit the drum riser and Happy and Freaky both appeared. The night started with song “Deuce” and an epic tribute to Kiss. Twisted Sister was up next. The hair and the makeup was amazing for each set. Hairball did sets of Van Halen, Bon jovi, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Poison, Prince, Guns and Roses, AC/DC, Judas Priest and Ozzy. The guys of Hairball aim to give their fans the complete arena rock experience. What sets Hairball apart from most tribute bands is that they manage to take the audience on a whirlwind tour of their favorite artists. By rotating several vocalists each act feels so authentic fans have to take a triple take to make sure they are not watching the real thing. Best of all, Hairball’s show is about the love of the genre and tons of fun.
